Stress is part of the job—but it doesn’t have to run your life. This self-paced, science-backed program offers practical tools to help you reset, recharge, and stay grounded.
Working in the criminal justice system—whether inside courtrooms, correctional facilities or community organizations—exposes people to persistent, high-impact stress. Over time, this stress accumulates in the body and nervous system, often without our awareness. The consequences can include emotional exhaustion, reactivity, sleep disruption, physical tension, and burnout that impact those involved and the people they care about.
This program offers an embodied mindfulness approach to managing stress and burnout, while building resilience and maintaining long-term well-being. It’s evidence-based and rooted in more than two decades of experience working with system-involved communities. Drawing from neuroscience, somatic psychology, and traditional mindfulness-based practices, it introduces practical tools to help people better regulate their nervous systems, discharge stress and cultivate habits of care and recovery.
The focus is on what works—brief, easy-to-learn, and apply practices that have a noticeable and measurable impact. Participants explore how stress affects their body, identify their own stress response patterns, and learn simple somatic and breathing techniques to center themselves and restore clarity, balance and agency—even in high-stakes environments.
Who This Is Program For
This program is designed for anyone who works within or alongside the criminal justice system—especially those who experience daily exposure to trauma, conflict, or emotional intensity. It is appropriate for:
